Doctor of Philosophy (Health) is a three to six years program at the Doctor of Philosophy level. It is a research mode program related to medical and health. The graduate will be supervised by a university lecturer who has expertise in related fields. The program aims to produce researchers in medicine and health who are competent and possess advanced proficiency, in line with the university’s vision and mission, and the nation’s aspiration towards sustainable quality healthcare. The program also aims to produce a health researcher who synthesise the knowledge and adapts the skills acquired in conducting advanced medical and health-related research, who incorporate personal skills, ethics, and professionalism in their engagement with medical and health research, practice leadership roles and resolve complex issues through scientific and humane approaches and display entrepreneurial skills, and effective information system management  in medical and health-related research.

1. Master’s Degree from the university recognised by Senate or

2. Other qualifications that are equivalent to a Master’s Degree and recognised by Senate or

3. Master’s candidate possessing a Bachelor’s Degree with CGPA 3.30 and above may apply for conversion to Doctor of Philosophy program subject to terms or

4. Candidate possessing a Bachelor’s Degree with a first-class degree (CGPA 3.67 and above) in related fields may apply for direct admission to Doctor of Philosophy program subject to terms.

All international candidates must fulfil minimum language requirements: TOEFL (550), IBT/IBT Home Edition (60), IELTS (6.0), MUET (Band 4), Cambridge English Qualifications (169)
