  • The profession of medicine offers a diverse range of career opportunities. On completion of the MBBS programme, graduates are employed to work in an approved general hospital undertaking general medical training as a houseman under supervision for a minimum period of 2 years.
  • After satisfactory completion of this training period and obtaining full registration to practice, graduates have to make a career decision regarding postgraduate specialty (including general practice) training programs offered by universities. They can choose to specialize in any medical fields or specialties such as Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Family Medicine, Pathology, Psychiatry, Radiology, Community Medicine and many others.
  • Alternatively, they may work in private practice on their own, in group practices, in community health centres, in institutes of research and in public and private hospitals. Graduates may also become medical administrators in hospitals or government departments or medical academics and/or researchers involved with teaching or medical research.

  1. Fulfilled the university’s general requirement.
  2. Obtain a minimum PNGK 3.60 at STPM level.
  3. Obtain a minimum of Grade B+ of the following subjects at STPM level:
    • Biology
    • Chemistry
    • Physics / Mathematics (M) / Mathematics (T)
  1. Obtain a minimum of Grade B of the following subjects at SPM level:
    • Mathematics / Additional Mathematics
    • Biology
    • Physics
    • Chemistry
    • Any other ONE (1) subjects than those selected EXCLUDING Bahasa Melayu
  1. Obtain a minimum of Grade C+ in English at SPM level.
  2. A minimum score of Band 3 in MUET (BAND 3).
  3. No physical disabilities, speech impairment, blindness, deafness and dumbness.
  4. Pass the Interview.

 

MATRICULATION / FUNDAMENTAL CATEGORY

  1. Fulfilled the university’s general requirement.
  2. Obtain a minimum PNGK 3.60 at Matriculation / Foundation level.
  3. Obtain a minimum of Grade B+ of the following subjects at Matriculation / Foundation level:
    • Biology
    • Chemistry
    • Physic / Mathematics
  1. Obtain a minimum of Grade B of the following subjects at SPM level:
    • Mathematics / Additional Mathematics
    • Biology
    • Physics
    • Chemistry
    • Any other ONE (1) subjects than those selected EXCLUDING Bahasa Melayu
  1. Obtain a minimum of Grade C+ in English at SPM level.
  2. A minimum score of Band 3 in MUET (BAND 3).
  3. No physical disabilities, speech impairment, blindness, deafness and dumbness.
  4. Pass the interview.

 

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

  1. At least obtain CGPA 3.60 at GCE A-level/ equivalent.
  2. At least Grade B+ in GCE A-Level/ equivalent for the following subjects:
    • Biology
    • Chemistry
    • Physics/ Mathematics/ equivalent
  1. At least Grade B in the following subjects at GCE O Level
    • Mathematics / Additional Mathematics
    • Biology
    • Physics
    • Chemistry

OR

  1. At least 32 points in Diploma of International Baccalaureate (IB) or equivalent and obtain grade 4 at Higher Level (HL) for the following subjects:
    • Biology
    • Chemistry
    • Physics/ Mathematics
  1. Language Requirements: IELTS 6.0/ TOEFL iBT 60/ MUET Band 4
  2. No physical disabilities and no speech impairment.
  3. Pass the interview
  4. Malay Language is needed for clinical work at year 3,4 and 5.
