STPM (Category A and S)

  • Obtained at least CGPA 2.00 at the STPM level.

MATRICULATION / FOUNDATION (Category N, K and J)

  • Obtained at least CGPA 2.00 at the Matriculation / Foundation level.

STAM (Category T)

  • Obtained at least the grade Jayyi d at the STAM level.

DIPLOMA (Category E, F and G)

  • Obtained at least CGPA 2.00 at the Diploma level in any related field such as:
    • Industrial/Product/Furniture/Automotive/Construction/3D/Artifact Design
    • Craft Design; Built Environment/ Landscape/ Urban Planning/ Interior Design/ Stage Design
    • Graphic Design/ Media Visual/ Digital Media/ Animation/ Game Design

OR

  • Passed the Malaysian Skills Diploma (DKM) / Malaysian Advanced Skills Diploma (DLKM) / Malaysian Vocational Diploma (DVM) in a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.50

OR

  • Passed DKM / DLKM / DVM with a minimum CGPA 2.00 and at least two (2) years of work experience in a related field

OR

  • Passed the International Baccalaureate (IB) examination with a minimum score of 29, and obtained at least Grade 4 in three (3) HL/SL subjects.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Obtained at least Band 2.0 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) for examinations starting from Session 1, 2021;
    OR
  • Obtained at least Band 2 for MUET examinations taken up to 2020, according to the validity period at the date of application.

INTERVIEW / PORTFOLIO

  • Must pass an Interview OR Portfolio Submission, as required by the university.

APEL.A

  • Passed the Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning for Access (APEL.A) assessment conducted by MQA.

Bachelor of Industrial Design with Honours first offered in 2008/2009. The programme has received the quality certificate from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA FA9658) under National Education Code (NEC) 0212. This is a full-time study programme with duration is three and half years covering seven semesters or three and a half years. Teaching and learning methods for each course are conducted through lectures, tutorials, practical, presentation, projects and industrial training.

Bachelor of Industrial Design Program in UniSZA prepares students for a career in the global product design industry. Students learn how to tackle complex problem solving, explore creative solutions, and develop realistic outcomes that could make a mark on the world. The exploration of IR 4.0 technology Graduates will be able to develop creative ideas based on their knowledge of related arts, design and engineering technology disciplines, as well as gain the practical business skills needed to commercialize new products. Furthermore, this programme dedicated in embracing the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0) elements such as Additive Manufacturing and Simulation (Virtual and Augmented Reality). Hence, we are committed in ensuring long-term employability and future-proof careers in the age of IR4.0, post COVID-19 and beyond.
