STPM

All below requirements must be fulfilled:

  • A pass in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM)/ equivalent qualification with honours in Bahasa Melayu/ Bahasa Malaysia or honours in Bahasa Melayu/ Bahasa Malaysia Paper July
  • A pass the Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum of CGPA 2.50
  • Al least Grade C+ of the following subjects at STPM Level: Biology/ Chemistry/ Physics/ Mathematics (M)/ Mathematics (T)
  • At least Grade C of the following subjects at SPM Level: English/ Biology/ Chemistry/ Physics / Mathematics  / Additional Mathematics
  • At least Grade C in ONE (1) subject EXCLUDING Bahasa Melayu at SPM Level
  • A minimum score of Band 2 in MUET
  • No limb and speech disabilities, blind, deaf, dumb, short-sighted and color blind.

MATRICULATION/ FUNDAMENTAL CATEGORY

All below requirements must be fulfilled:

  • A pass in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) / equivalent qualification with honours in Bahasa Melayu/ Bahasa Malaysia or honours in Bahasa Melayu/ Bahasa Malaysia Paper July
  • A pass in Matriculation/ Foundation programme with a minimum of CGPA 2.50
  • At least Grade C+ of the following subjects at Matriculation/ Foundation Level: Mathematics/ Chemistry/ Biology / Physics
  • At least Grade C of the following subjects at SPM Level: English/ Biology/ Chemistry/ Physics / Mathematics  / Additional Mathematics
  • At least Grade C in ONE (1) subject EXCLUDING Bahasa Melayu at SPM Level
  • A minimum score of Band 2 in MUET

DIPLOMA AND EQUIVALENT CATEGORY

All below requirements must be fulfilled:

  • A pass in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM)/ equivalent qualification with honours in Bahasa Melayu/ Bahasa Malaysia or honours in Bahasa Melayu/ Bahasa Malaysia Paper July
  • Graduated with a Diploma or other equivalent qualification recognized by the Malaysian Government and approved by University Senate
  • At least CGPA 3.00 at Diploma level; Diploma in related fields
  • At least Grade C of the following subjects at SPM Level: English/ Biology/ Chemistry/ Physics/ Mathematics/ Additional Mathematics
  • At least Grade C in ONE (1) subject EXCLUDING Bahasa Melayu at SPM Level
  • A minimum score of Band 2 in MUET
  • No limb and speech disabilities, blind, deaf, dumb, short-sighted and color blind.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Senior High School/ Senior Secondary School/ Other Certifications from government
    schools (with the period of at least 11 or 12 years of study from primary to
    higher secondary);

OR

  • Pass General Certificate of Education (GCE)/ A-Level;

OR

  • Diploma in related field;

OR

  • Any other Certificate that is recognised and approved by the Senate of the University;

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

  • International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) Band 5.0;

OR

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL IBT) score of 45;

OR

  • Malaysian University English Test (MUET) Band 3.

AND

FACULTY REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least Grade B (CGPA 3.0) in GCE (A-Level)/ equivalent

AND

  • At least Grade B (GPA 3.0) in GCE A-Level/ equivalent for Biology and Chemistry

AND

  • At least Grade B (GPA 3.0) in GCE (A-Level)/ equivalent for Physics / Mathematics

AND

  • Candidate is not colour blind, physical or speech handicapped

Program Aims- This program aims to produce graduates who can fully utilize and apply the knowledge and skills in the field of halal food development and generate jobs opportunity and compete in the market to meet the needs of the current workforce in the country and abroad. 

Synopsis- The Bachelor of Halal Food Development is your opportunity to make the innovation of food products for sustainability of future generations. Graduates of the course are critical thinkers. They are very much in demand in food and halal industries due to their scientific understanding of the technical aspects of food with emphasis of Syariah requirements. The course focuses firstly on helping you develop a greater understanding of Maqasid Syariah through education in halal fields, and secondly on the technology of food such as preservation, processing, and packaging to ensure that food is safe, nutritious and wholesome. 

Bachelor of Halal Food Development will be offered in October 2021. The programme has received a quality certificate from the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA). Bachelor of Halal Food Development is a full-time study. The programme duration is four years or eight semesters consisting of seven (7) regular semester and a six (6) months of industrial training. Teaching and learning methods for the course include lectures, tutorials, practical, presentation, projects, and industrial training.
