Upon completion of this program, student should be able to:

STPM CATEGORY

  • Received a minimum of grade B+ in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM)/ equivalent qualification with honours in Bahasa Melayu/ Bahasa Malaysia or honours in Bahasa Melayu
  • Received a minimum of CGPA 2.75 in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM)
  • Received at least Grade B for any TWO subjects in Sijil Pendidikan Malaysia (SPM), not including Bahasa Melayu.
  • Received a minimum score of Band 4 in MUET

MATRICULATION / FUNDAMENTAL CATEGORY

  • Received a minimum of grade B+ in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM)/ equivalent qualification with honours in Bahasa Melayu/ Bahasa Malaysia or honours in Bahasa Melayu
  • Received a minimum of CGPA 2.75 at matriculation/ foundation level
  • Received at least Grade B for any TWO subjects in Sijil Pendidikan Malaysia (SPM), not including Bahasa Melayu
  • Received a minimum score of Band 4 in MUET

DIPLOMA AND EQUIVALENT CATEGORY

  • Received a minimum of grade B+ in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM)/ equivalent qualification with honours in Bahasa Melayu/ Bahasa Malaysia or honours in Bahasa Melayu
  • Received a minimum of CGPA 2.75 at diploma level
  • Received at least Grade B for any TWO subjects in Sijil Pendidikan Malaysia (SPM), not including Bahasa Melayu
  • Received a minimum score of Band 4 in MUET

STAM CATEGORY

  • Received a minimum of grade B+ in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM)/ equivalent qualification with honours in Bahasa Melayu/ Bahasa Malaysia or honours in Bahasa Melayu
  • Received a minimum of CGPA 2.75 at STAM level
  • Received at least Grade B for any TWO subjects in Sijil Pendidikan Malaysia (SPM), not including Bahasa Melayu

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

  • Pass General Certificate of Secondary Education (GSCE)/Ordinary Level or equivalent with credit in English or Pass General Certificate of Education (GCE)/Advance Level in English.
  • Pass General Certificate of Education (GCE)/ A’ Level with at least:
  • Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in general paper;
  • Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in two other subjects;

OR

  • Diploma in the related field;

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 500

OR

  • International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) Band 5.5

OR

  • English Placement Test (EPT)

FACULTY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Obtain at least Grade A- in GCE
  • (A’ Level) for English Literature subject

OR

  • Obtain at least Grade A- in GCSE (O’ Level) for English subject
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 500

  • International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) Band 5.5

The Bachelor of English with Communication (Hons) program is offered in line with national and international English language requirements. This program is expected to accommodate and meet the needs of the nation in various sectors of education and communication. It received the full accreditation from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency on 15th October 2015. The program offers full -time method of study with a minimum duration of 4 years (8 regular semester) and a maximum duration of 6 years (12 semesters). Teaching methods include lecture sessions, tutorials, presentations, workshops and industrial training. Also, students are exposed to active learning based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) where they are encouraged to actively participate to identify knowledge gaps, learning levels and learning techniques.
