STPM

All below requirements must be fulfilled:

  • A pass in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM)/ equivalent qualification with honours in Bahasa Melayu/ Bahasa Malaysia or honours in Bahasa Melayu/ Bahasa Malaysia Paper July
  • A pass the Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum of CGPA 2.50
  • Obtain a minimum of Grade C in Biology at STPM Level
  • Obtain a minimum of Grade C of the following subjects at STPM Level: Biology/ Chemistry/ Physics/ Mathematics/ Additional/ Mathematics/ Economics/ Geography/ Accounting
  • Obtain a minimum Grade C of the following subjects at SPM level: Biology and Mathematics
  • Obtain a minimum of Grade C in TWO (2) subjects EXCLUDING Bahasa Melayu
  • A minimum score of Band 2 in MUET

MATRICULATION / FUNDAMENTAL CATEGORY

All below requirements must be fulfilled:

  • A pass in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM)/ equivalent qualification with honours in Bahasa Melayu/ Bahasa Malaysia or honours in Bahasa Melayu/ Bahasa Malaysia Paper July
  • A pass in Matriculation/ Foundation programme with a minimum of CGPA 2.50
  • Obtain a minimum of Grade C in ONE (1) subject from the following subjects at Matriculation/ Foundation Level: Biology/ Chemistry/ Physics/ Mathematics
  • Obtain a minimum Grade C of the following subjects at SPM level: Biology and Mathematics
  • Obtain a minimum of Grade C in TWO (2) subjects EXCLUDING Bahasa Melayu
  • A minimum score of Band 2 in MUET

DIPLOMA AND EQUIVALENT CATEGORY

All below requirements must be fulfilled:

  • A pass in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM)/ equivalent qualification with honours in Bahasa Melayu/ Bahasa Malaysia or honours in Bahasa Melayu/ Bahasa Malaysia Paper July
  • Graduated with a Diploma or other equivalent qualification recognized by the Malaysian Government and approved by University Senate with a minimum of CGPA 2.75
  • Obtain a minimum Grade C of the following subjects at SPM level: Mathematics/ Additional/ Mathematics
  • Obtain a minimum of Grade C in the following subjects: Biology/ Chemistry/ Science/ Additional Science/ Agriculture Science
  • Obtain a minimum of Grade C in TWO (2) subjects EXCLUDING Bahasa Melayu
  • A minimum score of Band 2 in MUET

 

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Senior High School/ Senior Secondary School/ Other Certifications from government schools (with the period of at least 11 or 12 years of study from primary to higher secondary);

OR

  • Pass General Certificate of Education (GCE)/ A-Level;

OR

  • Diploma in related field;

OR

  • Any other Certificate that is recognized and approved by the Senate of the University;

AND

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

OR

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL IBT) score of 45;

OR

  • Malaysian University English Test (MUET) Band 3.

AND

FACULTY REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least Grade B (CGPA 3.0) in GCE (A-Level)/equivalent

AND

  • At least Grade B (GPA 3.0) for Biology/Chemistry/Science

AND

  • At least Grade B (GPA 3.0) in GCE (A-Level) equivalent for Mathematics/ Biology/ Fundamentals of Science

AND

  • Candidate is not colour blind, physical or speech handicapped.

The Bachelor of Production and Animal Health with Honors is the best preparation for a career in the field of production and animal health. The program is an applied science degree in the form of an Industry Study Mode (3u1i model) combining the basics of science with the fields of animal science and is complemented by practical work. In the first year of study, students are exposed to animal production and health systems through a variety of courses such as animal products, biochemistry, genetics and breeding, economics, accounting, and biostatistics. In year two, courses taught cover the basics of anatomy and physiology, nutrition, microbiology and parasitology, non-ruminant production, animal reproduction, equine science, and animal health and disease. In year three, students will study knowledge related to agrostology, ruminant production, aquaculture, farm management, agricultural development and communications, animal reproduction technology, and animal processing and nutrition technology. In the third year of study, students will also carry out research and presentation projects seminar. In year four, students will undergo industrial training in areas such as ruminants, equine, poultry, swine, and aquaculture.

Graduates of this study have professional career opportunities in animal husbandry, agribusiness (consultants and advisory services), animal health and welfare, marketing, urban and rural entrepreneurial management (including farms), livestock industry and research.
