Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) also known as drone are the comparative effective used to detect and monitoring any disaster included floods. This book described more details on how this technology able to use as detection tools in flood mitigation based on images captured, dissimilar with the current method that used in Malaysia. In Malaysia, Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) monitored the flood disaster based on few techniques; include the visual surveillances which are from closed-circuit television (CCTV) web camera and Synthetic Aperture Radars satellites (SAR) but CCTV web camera is only covers in specific areas and requires more installation in residential areas. Meanwhile, for satellites imagery DID admit with high operation cost and time route not at the peak flooding, it is difficult for the agency to obtain real-time information. This book displayed a few process to evaluate the proposed technique to ensure the imagery from UAV able to detect the flooded area both in qualitative and quantitative evaluation. Based on developed algorithm Percentage Flood Discover (PFD), this book really hoped that it can be a basic step especially to researchers as early exposure on capability of UAV in flood monitoring founded on image processing technique in Malaysia. It’s also able to be a part references to the rescue team particularly in detecting the flooded area not only in visual surveillance, but as continuously monitoring specifically to the area that difficult to reach
