The mothers’ experience of stress
and anxiety can worsen if they have low knowledge and NICU-related ability;
mothers of infants admitted in NICU require relevant information to cope with
this situation. These NICU related psychological problems (stress and
anxiety) have also been shown to affect the mother’s quality of life.
Interventions based on the provision of educational information and
psychological support was shown to have effectively reduced maternal
psychological problems in NICU, i.e., a nurse-led intervention, early
educational and emotional support for parents of preterm infants. The main purpose of this book is to discover the maternal
psychological issues faced by mothers’ who premature baby admitted to Neonatal
Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This book will be benefited to mothers especially
those with premature babies, students' nurses, staff nurses, doctor and related
field researcher as a reference.
