Welcome to ICMAD2026
The Faculty of Contemporary Islamic Studies (FKI), Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), is honoured to welcome you to the International Conference on Muslim Affairs and Dilemma 2026 (ICMAD 2026), to be held at Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), Terengganu, Malaysia, on 5 October 2026. The conference will bring together scholars, researchers, practitioners, policymakers, professionals and students from Malaysia and around the world to engage in meaningful scholarly discourse on contemporary issues affecting Muslim societies and the global community.
This year’s conference embraces the theme “Addressing the Crisis of the Ummah and Contemporary Dilemmas through Global Collaboration.” In an increasingly interconnected world, Muslim societies continue to encounter complex challenges arising from rapid social, political, economic, technological and global transformations. These developments demand thoughtful, informed and collaborative responses that are grounded in scholarly knowledge, shared responsibility and a commitment to the well-being of the Ummah and humanity. ICMAD 2026 therefore provides a timely interdisciplinary platform for critically examining contemporary challenges while exploring relevant, practical and sustainable solutions.
The Conference seeks to convene distinguished academics, researchers, policymakers, religious scholars, professionals, industry experts, emerging scholars and students from diverse backgrounds. It offers an international platform for participants to present original research, exchange scholarly perspectives and engage in constructive dialogue on issues relating to Muslim affairs, contemporary dilemmas and the future of the Ummah. Particular attention is given to strengthening global cooperation, encouraging interdisciplinary engagement and developing intellectual, social and institutional responses capable of addressing contemporary challenges.
Beyond showcasing recent research findings and emerging scholarly perspectives, ICMAD 2026 aims to foster meaningful deliberation on the multidimensional challenges confronting the Ummah and contemporary society. Through the exchange of knowledge, expertise and experiences across disciplines, institutions and countries, the conference aspires to strengthen intellectual networks, promote strategic collaboration and encourage the development of innovative approaches that contribute to the advancement of Muslim societies in an increasingly complex global environment.
ICMAD 2026 also serves as an important platform for building lasting academic and professional networks among participants from different countries, disciplines and institutions. By creating opportunities for dialogue, knowledge sharing and future collaboration, the conference seeks to strengthen collective efforts towards developing a resilient, harmonious and sustainable Muslim civilisation capable of responding effectively to contemporary global challenges.
We warmly invite you to join this distinguished gathering of scholars, professionals, policymakers, researchers and future leaders as we advance critical conversations, establish meaningful collaborations and collectively explore innovative and sustainable approaches towards addressing the crisis of the Ummah and contemporary dilemmas through global collaboration.
