About the Conference
The Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), remains committed to advancing knowledge and promoting research in medicine and health. TranSMeC 2026 marks the Faculty’s second Translational and Holistic Medicine Conference, with this edition focusing on gerontology and the science of ageing.
The 2nd Translational and Holistic Medicine Conference 2026, themed Gerontology & Ageing and guided by the motto “Ageing Horizons: Blending Science with Society,” will take place from 28 to 29 October 2026 at Ar-Riyadah Residence, Terengganu.
This two-day conference aims to bring together experts, researchers, policymakers and practitioners to exchange insights, encourage meaningful dialogue and foster collaboration in supporting healthy ageing and ageing well.
The conference promotes translational, holistic and integrated care by connecting scientific knowledge with real-world practices and community needs. It also emphasises culturally sensitive and locally adapted solutions that support the well-being of older persons and their families.
