About Conference

The International Seminar on al-Qur’an and Sunnah in Contemporary Society (SQ) has been a hallmark academic event since its inception, with successful iterations held in 2008, 2010, 2012, 2015, and 2018 by the Faculty of Islamic Contemporary Studies (FKI), Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA). Building on this legacy, SQ2026 continues the tradition of excellence as a high-level international seminar hosted by the Department of al-Qur’an and al-Sunnah, FKI, UniSZA, Malaysia, in collaboration with Yayasan Dar Al-Qari Resources as co-organizer. SQ2026 provides a dynamic platform for scholars, researchers, policymakers, and practitioners worldwide to present original research, share insights, and engage in critical dialogue on the role of the Qur’an and Sunnah in addressing contemporary societal challenges. The seminar seeks to bridge classical Islamic scholarship with modern realities, encouraging innovative, evidence-based, and impactful contributions. Through SQ2026, participants are invited to contribute to the advancement of global scholarly discourse, fostering interdisciplinary engagement and reflecting the vibrant interaction between Islamic tradition and contemporary intellectual, social, and technological developments.
