About Conference

The International Seminar on al-Quran and Sunnah In Contemporary Society 2022 (SQ2022) is a continuation of the previous SQ seminars organized in 2008, 2010, 2012, 2015 and 2018 respectively by the Faculty of Islamic Contemporary Studies (FKI), UniSZA.

The Covid-19 pandemic has adversely impacted the landscape of global human life in religious, legal and social relations. In order to harmonize the Covid-19 issues and the new norms challenges, as well as celebrating the glorious position of Islam, any approach and resolution taken should be based on al-Quran and Sunnah as the main source.

This online seminar will discuss a wide range of issues and provide useful input in dealing with issues related to the post-pandemic and endemic reality of Covid-19. This coincides with Divine Guidance which is dynamic, progressive and flexible as long as it does not contradict with the principles of Islam.

Therefore, SQ2022 is jointly organized by Faculty of Islamic Contemporary Studies, Sultan Zainal Abidin University (UniSZA) and Centre of Quranic Research, University of Malaya, in collaboration with Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University (UNISSA) Brunei, Sunan Ampel State Islamic University Surabaya, Perlis Islamic University College (KUIPS) and Taif University aims to provide a platform for academics, Islamic scholars and industry players in various fields to translate al-Quran and Sunnah discourses into various themes related to Covid-19 issue.
