Keynote Speakers
Prof. Pornchai Supnithi is a full professor at Telecommunication Engineering Department, School of Engineering, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Thailand. His research focuses on Ionospheric study, GNSS technology, Communication and Data storage technology, especially signal and data processing in these fields. His laboratory maintains several ionospheric monitoring stations in Thailand (ionosonde, VHF radar, beacon receivers, GNSS receivers) and Thai GNSS and Space Weather Information Website. He has published over 80 international journals and 3 books/chapters. At present, he is an Executive Committee member of International Association of Geomagnetism and Aeronomy (IAGA), Steering Committee member of Asia-Oceania Space Weather Alliance (AOSWA), country representatives of International Space Weather Initiative (ISWI) and International reference Ionosphere (IRI) committee.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rokhis Khomarudin is a researcher in the field of remote sensing technology and geomatics who have long been involved in the research of remote sensing applications, especially in the fields of environment and disaster management. He graduated and received his PhD in Geography of Remote Sensing from Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich in 2010. In his professional career, he was the head of the Department of Environment and Disaster Management from 2011 to 2014 and the Director of Remote Sensing Applications Center at the National Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (LAPAN) from 2014 to 2021. Now, he is an acting director of research center for geoinformatics under National Research and Innovation Agency, Indonesia (BRIN).
Prof. Emeritus Dato’ ChM. Dr. Mazlin bin Mokhtar, BSc. (Tasmania), PhD (Queensland), FASc., FMIC., PMP (Perak), DSDK (Kedah), is Deputy Head for Research, and Director of Ecological Systems Program/Science Panel for Southeast Asia at United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UN SDSN) Asia Headquarters, hosted by Sunway University. Prior, at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM, The National University of Malaysia), he has held key positions as Founding Coordinator of Industrial Training for Faculty of Science and Natural Resources (FSSA, Fakulti Sains dan Sumber Alam); Founding Director of Centre for Public and International Relations (Pusat Perhubungan Awam dan Antarabangsa, PUSPA); Director of Institute for Environment and Development (LESTARI); and Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation. He has served on various national committees, including the Chair of Environment Committee of Academy of Sciences Malaysia; Member of Environmental Quality Act's Appeal Board 2019-2022; Chairman of Malaysia's Environmental Quality Council 2015-2018; Chairman of Committee appointed by Malaysian Government in reviewing the Lynas Rare Earth operations 2018, and Chairman of Advocacy, Awareness and Capacity Building (AACB) of Malaysia's Water Sector Transformation 2040 Study spearheaded by the Economic Planning Unit, Prime Minister's Department (now Ministry of Economy) and ASM. Mazlin is recipient of the Langkawi Environment Award 2018; Best 2010 FRGS MOHE (Ministry of Higher Education) project on Chemicals Management; and Professor Emeritus Award of UKM 2022. Prof Mazlin had also contributed to World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF, as it's Chairman of Conservation Committee 2014-2018); United Nations Development Program Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme (UNDP GEF SGP; National Steering Committee 2000-2018); National River Care Fund GEC (Global Environment Centre); and United Nations University (UNU) Climate and Ecosystems Change Adaptation Research and Training Program headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.
Mazlin was leader of several United Nations-sponsored research projects, which include the AP-FAST (Acceleration of Science and Technology; and MUCP (Malaysia UNESCO Cooperation Program) in Malaysia and Asia Pacific; also as leader of Environmental Risk Management group under Malaysia Vice Chancellors' Council & Japan Society for Promotion of Science (JSPS)+Kyoto University 2000-2018 program. Mazlin was a founding member of Malaysian Water Partnership (MyWP), and former Country Manager of MyCapNet (Capacity Building for IWRM). He is now a member of the Advisory Committee of the Sime Darby Chair on Sustainability, and Member of the Scientific Committee of Ministry of Higher Education's University-Industry Research Consortium on Karst Landscape Research, Malaysia; and Alternate Chair of MOHE Translational Research Grants Evaluation Committee. Mazlin is also appointed as an Advisory Member of the Malaysia Productivity Corporation's Tourism Productivity Nexus on Sustainable Practices.
Prof. Dr. Susumu Ohtsuka is a professor at Setouchi International Research Center for Carbon Neutral, Hiroshima University since April 2023. He obtained his PhD in Agriculture from University of Tokyo while Master in Science from Kyoto University. Throughout his academic career, he has held important leadership positions. He also has published many articles related to his field of expertise related in Marine planktology, Marine parasitology, Systematics, phylogeny, functional morphology, and ecology of copepods.. His commitment to the Hiroshima University, Japan, in alleviating the education and research levels is remarkable.
